Keys To Health: A Happy and Healthy Holiday Season!

  • Plan ahead for emergencies. Check with your vet for options available during holidays. Keep the ASPCA Poison Control Hotline handy: 1-888-426-4435 (A fee may apply.)

  • People food is for people. Fatty foods are difficult for pets to digest and can cause pancreatitis. Chocolate is toxic. Candy, gum, and sweets with xylitol can cause liver failure.

  • Decorations: Tinsel looks fun to play with but can get caught in intestines which can require surgery. Secure Christmas trees with wire so they don't fall when adventurous pets try to climb them.

  • Keep your pets safe from antifreeze, frigid temperatures, salt on paws, plow drivers that can’t see outdoor pets easily, and dangerous plants.
