Keys to Health: Help for Hurricane Animal Victims

As the efforts to rescue and rebuild continue in Texas for the people and their animals, we want to let you all know some ideas to help that we support.

We try to promote helping the small on-the-ground shelters and rescue groups, but find that it is not a super easy thing to do, as most of these shelters are needing outside help from bigger organizations. I personally endorse Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah, as I feel they are very genuine and truly focus on the animals regardless of disposition, health, or breed - very important.

Muttnation seems to be doing a sincere effort to move animals to other locations to help open space for those displaced within the local shelters.

Lastly, with $0 going to their directors, I can't help but want to support the SPCA of East Texas, which appears to be preparing not only to address the immediate need but also to provide a long-term sheltering option throughout what could be a long road to recovery.

We encourage you to help any way you can, but please research where your money is going. Get as much of it to the animals and not to the general fund, which supports HUGE administrative salaries. This truly matters.
